| Last evening, Upper Macungie Township Fire & Rescue, along with multiple mutual aid partners, responded to a reported dwelling fire with possible entrapment.
Police officers arrived on scene ahead of fire units and confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the home. Due to the initial report and conditions encountered, a second alarm was requested just prior to fire department arrival, bringing additional resources to the scene.
Firefighters operated for approximately two hours under very cold conditions, working to control and extinguish the fire. Two individuals were evaluated and transported to a local hospital, where they are reported to be recovering.
Upper Macungie Township Fire & Rescue extends sincere thanks to all mutual aid fire companies, EMS and rehab units, police, and Township Public Works for their assistance and coordination during the incident. The teamwork and professionalism displayed ensured a safe and effective response.
Fire Safety Reminder: Make sure your home has working smoke alarms on every level and near sleeping areas. Test them monthly and replace batteries as needed. |
